V2 · copper line replacement
V2 Class I Div 2
The same simple replacement as V1 Standard, for classified areas. Designed for Class I Div 2 sites: Class I Div 2 certified router, line computer, I/O and solar charge controller, with final acceptance by your site's evaluator.
- Same devices, same wiring. Dialers, gate call boxes, elevator phones and RTUs stay as they are.
- Two boxes on a post. Equipment box and solar box, at the road where the copper comes in.
- No site power. Solar with battery backup.
- Costs less than copper. Copper business lines are billing $200–2,700 a month. Cellular service for a line typically runs $15–45 a month.
- No AC through the classified area. Solar powers everything.
Goes in: tank farms, terminals, truck racks, compressor and meter stations.

Questions
Is the whole box certified? No. The router, line computer, I/O and solar charge controller are Class I Div 2 certified. The phone-line gateway and the batteries carry no hazardous rating: the gateway sits in the NEMA box under the NEC 501.150(B) provision (no make-and-break contacts), and the assembly needs your site's evaluator to accept it. If they won't, an explosion-proof enclosure for the gateway is available.
Div 1? No. Mount in Div 2 or outside the classified boundary.

Fire alarm panel too? V4 Div 2 + Fire-ready. Fire alarm lines are installed by a licensed fire alarm partner.
