Fire alarm lines in Texas
Fire alarm lines are installed by a licensed fire alarm partner. Every other line at the site moves to the same post.
Why a partner
- Texas requires an SFMO-registered fire alarm firm to install, modify or monitor fire alarm systems (Tex. Ins. Code 6002.151, 6002.002).
- Monitoring equipment is installed by or under a licensed fire alarm technician (28 TAC 34.616).
- The new path uses a listed (UL 864) communicator, per NFPA 72 as your fire marshal adopts it.
How it fits
V3 Fire-ready and V4 Div 2 + Fire-ready give the partner's communicator a mounting spot, power and solar backup in the same post-mounted box. Your own fire alarm company can do that part instead. We don't install or monitor fire alarms.
