Same device, new line
The box replaces the copper where it comes in. The device on the line stays where it is, with the same wiring and the same programming. We test each one before and after install.
- No new device, no reprogramming
- Solar powered, at the road
- Copper business lines are billing $200–2,700 a month. Cellular service for a line typically runs $15–45 a month.
Process alarm dialers
Your process alarm dialer keeps the same programming and the same call list. The box gives it a normal analog line: dial tone, ringing, voice and DTMF. After install we trigger a real alarm and confirm every number on the list gets the call.
Process alarms only; fire alarm communicators go through V3 Fire-ready, where fire alarm lines are installed by a licensed fire alarm partner.
Elevator phones
The elevator phone stays in the cab, on the same wiring, calling the same number. No work in the hoistway or machine room. We test a call from the cab; your elevator contractor checks it on their normal inspection.
Ooma found about 50% of the elevator lines it checked were already dead before migration. A test call during the survey shows which ones.
Gate call boxes
The gate call box, its keypad and its programming stay as they are. A solar box on a post near the gate connects to the call box's existing phone line: no trench back to the building, no AC at the gate. We test calls to every number the box dials. Gate control (codes, relays) is untouched.
RTUs and SCADA dial-up
The RTU, the modem and the SCADA side stay as they are; polls and callbacks keep running as they do today. We test connect, poll and callback on each modem before install. An IP upgrade can come later, on your schedule. For SCADA-monitored pipelines you get a test record for your 49 CFR 192.631 file.
